We offer a variety of children's classes. Please see below:

For Children
If we receive enough registrations, we will offer two types of courses: German courses for native speakers and German immersion courses. The native speaker courses are designed for children who speak German at home with their families and already have a good command of the language. The immersion courses are intended for children who are interested in learning German. Since the majority of our students already have a good command of German, we kindly ask you to contact us briefly by email or phone before registering a child with no prior knowledge of German.

Spielgruppe/Playgroup (
Deutsch & Immersion Stream)

Age(s): 3-4
Saturdays, 9.30am-12.30 p.m.
Spielgruppe exposes the students to spoken German through play, songs and games  and promotes the understanding and speaking of basic situational German.

Kindergarten - 3. Klasse (Deutsch & Immersion Stream)

Age(s): 5-8

Saturdays, 9.30am-12.30 p.m.
Children are taught in age-based groups (Kindergarten/Grade 1/Grade 2/Grade 3). In Kindergarten, children learn German through stories, songs and games. Starting in Grade 1, children are introduced to German phonics, reading and writing. The children also participate in cultural activities throughout the year (St. Martin Lanternwalk, Weihnachtsfest, Ostern etc.).

4. - 7. Klasse (Deutsch & Immersion Streams)

Age(s): 9-12

Tuesdays, 4:00 - 6:15 p.m.
Building on German learned in the previous courses, our intermediate classes further develop German spelling and grammar as well as reading and writing skills.
We offer two language diplomas at this level: ZfA Vergleichsarbeit 1 (IVA1) and ZfA Vergleichsarbeit 2 (IVA2). These diplomas help prepare students for the DSDI and DSDII exams, but are not a prerequisite for any further exams.

For Middle School/High School Students

Sprachdiplom

We offer two language diplomas for children/teenagers: DSD I (B1) and DSD II (C1). Students wishing to attend a college or a university in Germany need to provide evidence of proficiency in the German language by passing the DSDII exam.

Sprachdiplom DSD I (A2/B1) and DSD II (B2/C1)

Age(s): 14-16 (DSDI) and 16-18 (DSDII)
Tuesdays, 4:00 - 6:15 p.m.
These advanced level classes are aimed at Grade 8 to 12 students who are fluent (or close to fluent) German speakers and are seeking to become more competent in reading and writing in German. The class will focus on reading and writing skills. Students must have a basic ability in reading and writing, and must be able to engage only in German during the period of instruction.
