Victoria German School

The Victoria German School (VGS) is operated by the Victoria German School Society and is a registered non-profit charity. As a provincially recognized Heritage Language School, the school has been providing German language education for children and adults in Victoria since 1986.

The Victoria German School offers complete German language and heritage education: providing German language introduction for pre-school and elementary levels, offering provincial high school credits, and assisting in meeting entrance requirements for Germany's universities. Through games, music and celebrations, children are also introduced to the culture and history of German speaking countries.

While our primary focus is on furthering the German language abilities of children with parents from a German speaking background, we also encourage interest in the German language for children without a background in German.

Our programs are funded through tuition fees and donations from parents, the community at large, the B.C. Direct Access Program and the Federal Government of Germany.
